Derek’s reintroduction to art and design came in the form a 2:30 A.M. wake up call and cold sweats caused by suppressed talent, creativity and job dissatisfaction. Since unplugging from the “Office Space Matrix” and awaking from the corporate coma. 
His awaking rekindled his passion for entrepreneurship, fine art, architectural design, advertising, running and philanthropy.

One of the things that spawned from that night was saying that has become a motto of his was “Live more, do life!”.

Live more in the moment. Live more on purpose, with a purpose. Live more with passion. Do life with passion. Do life with God driven faith, motivation and authentic leadership. Do life without fear of failure and the negative thoughts of others. 
 
Derek combines his strong business background and his analytical creative skills with and a lifelong interest in advertising, design and all things creative.

To hone his design skills he is currently enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco majoring in Web design and New Media. He is also a member of the AIGA Austin chapter.

When he isn’t devouring design websites and magazines. You can find him on the sidelines cheering like a mad man at his kids athletic events.

Derek lives in Texas with his wife Malinda aka “The Boss Lady” and their two children, 3 dogs and a cat.
